National Stud & Trim Castle Day Tour
Starts At: After a leisurely breakfast your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel at 10hrs and bring you on a full 8 hour day tour of Kildare into the heart of Irish thoroughbred horse country.
The Route: Our first stop will be Castletown House which is one of the finest examples of a Georgian Estate Mansion and was once owned by the wealthiest man in Ireland. It has a rich collection of artefacts and never fails to awe visitors with its stunning network of plasterwork. From Castletown House we will drive across horse country to Newbridge Silverware to visit the Style Icon Museum and factory shop. See some of the most iconic womens outfits from Munroe to Madonna to mention just a few.
Irish National Stud: Enjoy lunch locally either in the Newbridge cafe or perhaps a local pub before heading over to the famous Irish National Stud, the only horse stud farm visitor centre open to the public in Europe. See some of the world’s most expensive and famous horses, learn the history of horseracing in the horse museum where you’ll be greeted by the skeleton of Arkle, arguably the world’s greatest racehorse and enjoy a stroll around the Japanese Gardens and Millennium Gardens before we return to Dublin for your evening and overnight.
