Waterford Crystal Day Tour from Cork
Starts At: After a leisurely breakfast your driver-guide will meet you at your accommodation at 09.30h and bring you on a full 8 hour day tour to Waterford as we travel directly eastwards non-stop to the oldest city in Ireland.
Viking Triangles & Medieval Museums: Waterford was founded by the vikings in 914 AD and celebrates 1,100 years of existence most notably in the Viking triangle where there is a wealth of fun and interesting places to visit. Our day starts off with a guided tour of the newly opened Medieval museum which takes you through part of the city walls into some buildings which date back 800 years and are in remarkable condition to this day. Your tour then takes you up to see the 4 meter long scroll which is on the ‘Ireland in 100 historical Items’ list and tells the interesting story of Waterfords ‘Untaken’ history…up until 1650 (when it was ‘taken’ by Cromwells forces!).
Worlds Most Famous Crystal – Waterford Crystal: Leaving the Medieval museum, enjoy some time to explore the Main Street and perhaps a local pub lunch before taking an enjoyable tour of the most famous Crystal in the world, Waterford Crystal.
