Your driver-guide will be available to answer any questions you may have as you travel over the coming days so you can make the most of your time with us and experience the best that Ireland has to offer.
This tour includes a luxury touring vehicle, expert driver-guide, all road tolls, full vehicle insurance and complimentary bottled water each day of your tour. Admission charges to attractions are not included in the tour price.
Client accommodation is not included in this package, with years of experience, we know that every person is different and as a result, we allow our clients to choose their own accommodation to suit their needs. We are happy to recommend accommodation in each location varying from 4/5* accommodation to luxury guesthouses and Bed and Breakfasts all of which we can highly recommend.

Departing on your 5 day tour of Ireland we will head straight across Ireland stopping on the banks of the River Shannon at Clonmacnoise monastic site which dates back over 1,000 years. After some time in Clonmacnoise, we will continue through Shannonbridge town towards Galway which is a colourful small city known as the city of tribes due to its mixed heritage and history. From Galway, we will travel up to Cong village to visit this lovely town where the Quiet Man was filmed and we will make our way by the beautiful lakes in Connemara before arriving over in Clifden for your dinner and overnight.

Today will be full of beautiful scenery and fascinating stories as we meander through Connemara which was once described by Oscar Wilde as a ‘savage beauty’. Our tour of Connemara will start in the small picturesque village of Roundstone and the musical craft centre before we head to Dan O’Haras famine house and historical centre. This tells the story of Connemara, its landscape and people. From here, we will continue up to Kylemore Abbey which is the jewel in Connemaras crown. This 19th century castle is beautifully built and has some of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland. Return to Clifden for your dinner and overnight.

Today, we will stay in Connemara in the morning driving up to Irelands only Fjord for a boat tour of this beautiful inlet. Enjoying the experience we will continue through Leenane village and sheep museum before heading into the remote and beautiful Delphi Valley. Learn about Delphi’s amazing yet tragic connection with the native Indians of America before we rejoin the coast and stop at the foothills of Croagh Patrick. From the bottom you can see the ancient church built on the top of this unique exposed mountain where St Patrick himself spend 40 days and nights. Continue to the bustling town of Westport for your dinner and overnight.

Similar to Connemara, todays tour will be filled with beautiful scenery and short stops. See surfing beaches on the wild atlantic way, enjoy cliff side drives, mountaintop coastal views, deserted villages and many more things as we show you the best of the west on Irelands largest Island. Return to Westport for dinner and overnight.
Highlights include: Foxford woolen mills, Strokestown House and famine museum, Dublin
Our final day today we will make our way back towards Dublin. Passing through County Mayo’s largest town of Castlebar, our first stop will be shortly after this at Foxford Woolen Mills. Learn about this great town and its people, their struggle through the famine times, the land league which was founded here and has been adopted by governments throughout the world. From Foxford, we will make our way to Strokestown House which is a beautiful Georgian estate. Learn the rich story of how the Georgian people lived, also discover the famine museum which tells the story of the estate owner and his tenants during this tumultuous period. After a guided tour of the house, we will continue to Dublin where your driver will point out some local highlights before you arrive at your accommodation and bid farewell for now as your west tour with gantours.ie ends and your adventure in Dublin begins.
Terms: The price above includes a luxury touring vehicle, expert driver-guide, all vehicle costs (fuel, road tolls, vehicle insurance) and complimentary water. It also includes your driver-guides living expenses while touring including lunches, dinners and overnight accommodation while outside of Dublin.
Admission Charges and client lunch, dinners or accommodation are not included in this package.
This tour is based on an 8 hour touring day eg 09.30h to 17.30h following the tour route outlined. Should you require evening transportation from your accommodation to restaurant or for bar music, this can be discussed directly with your driver-guide and you can agree a specific rate or he can help you organise local evening transport as you wish.
