Tour Overview

Time TBC  your expert driver-guide will collect you at your Hotel in Dublin to start your exciting 6 day tour of the North west of Ireland. Your driver-guide will be available to answer any questions you may have as you travel over the coming days so you can make the most of your time with us and experience the best that Ireland has to offer.

Itinerary

Highlights - Battle of the Boyne centre. Slane Castle & Distillery. ( Day 1 )

10am Depart Hotel Travel to Co Meath where we will visit the Battle Of the Boyne Centre where the Battle of the Boyne took place in 1690 between King James ll & King William III.  Continue to Slane Castle for a Tour of the castle & of the whiskey distillery & sample some whiskey.  Slane castle has seen many famous musicians play concerts from U2 To Queen. Travel to Trim Co Meath for Dinner & Overnight.

Highlights - Trim Castle, Carrowmore Monuments, Mullaghmore Peninsula. ( Day 2 )

09.30h Visit Trim Castle which dates from 1173 & is the largest Angle Norman Castle in Ireland & it was here where Bravheart was filmed. Travel towards Sligo & visit Carrowmore Megalithic Monuments. They were built in the 4th Millennium. Lunch locally. Visit WB Yeats Grave & drive around Mullaghmore Coastal Peninsula. Continue to Donegal for Dinner, Music & Overnight.

Highlights - Highlights Coastal scenery, Slieve League Cliffs. ( Day 3 )

10am Today we will Tour along the coast to the Slieve League Cliffs which rise 596 meters above the Atlantic Ocean. Higher than the cliffs of Moher. Visit Glencolmcille on the coast &  the Folk Village which offers a glimpse into daily life in ireland. View the several thatched cottages. Lunch locally and tour back to Donegal for Dinner, music and Overnight.

Highlights - Donegal Castle, Glenveagh National Park & Castle. (Day 4 )

10am Visit Donegal Castle which was built by the O’Donnells & located in the town  or explore Donegal town before we depart for Glenveagh National Park & Castle. The Castle is a 19th century mansion overlooking Lough veagh. Continue to Dunfanaghy for Dinner & Overnight in this small town that was a fishing port.

Highlights - Stone Fort of Grianan of Aileach, Walking Tour of Derry City Walls. ( Day 5 )

Travel over to the Inishowen peninsula to the stone fort of Grianan of Aileach which dates back to 1700 BC. It is linked to the Tuatha De Danann who invaded Ireland before the Celts & built Stone Forts on Strategic Hills. Continue to Derry City for a guided walking Tour along the walls of Derry. Derry is a walled city & full of history. Lunch in Derry & Continue to Dunfanaghy for Dinner & Overnight.

Highlights - Cliff Walking Tour, Ulster American Folk Park. ( Day 6 )

09.30h Set off on a 2 hour guided walking tour along the headland at Dunfanaghy. Relax & stroll around the town for those who don’t wish to do the walk. Depart Dunfanaghy & travel to the Ulster American Folk Park. The museum tells the story of 3 centuries of Irish emigration with costumed guides. Thatched cottages of Ulster, A Ulster street, complete with original shop fronts & an American street. Lunch locally & Return to Dublin City.

This tour is based on an 8 hour touring day eg 09.30h to 17.30h following the tour route outlined. Should you require evening transportation from your accommodation to restaurant or for bar music, this can be discussed directly with your driver-guide and you can agree a specific rate or he can help you organise local evening transport as you wish.

Our Drivers: All our driver guides are vetted by the Irish police, have the correct licensing certification and follow the Irish rules and safety procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained and exceeded and client safety while touring is always our primary concern.

  2. Client accommodation is not included in this package. We are happy to recommend accommodation in each location varying from 4/5* accommodation to luxury guesthouses and Bed and Breakfasts all of which we can highly recommend.
  3. Flights, personal expenses, tips for guides, travel insurance, client lunches and dinner meals.
  4. Admission Charges and client lunch, dinners or accommodation are not included in this package.

Terms: The price above includes a luxury touring vehicle, expert driver-guide, all vehicle costs (fuel, road tolls, vehicle insurance) and complimentary water. It also includes your driver-guides living expenses while touring including lunches, dinners and overnight accommodation while outside of Dublin.
