Tour Overview

At 08.30h your expert driver-guide will collect you at the Aisling Hotel in Dublin to start your exciting 4 day tour of the west of Ireland. Your driver-guide will be available to answer any questions you may have as you travel over the coming days so you can make the most of your time with us and experience the best that Ireland has to offer.

Itinerary

Highlights include - Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Cliffs Of Moher, Burren. ( Day 1 )

Departing from Dublin this morning, our first stop will be Bunratty Castle and folk park. The castle dates from 1425 & you can explore the Traditional Thatched cottages that have been relocated from different parts of ireland. Continue to the Cliffs of Moher. These imposing cliffs offer unparalleled views over the Atlantic as they bear the full force of the Wild Atlantic Way.  Lunch locally before continuing along the coast road through the Burren region to Galway City for Dinner & Overnight. Galway is a great town where one can enjoy an evening of great food and Traditional music.

Highlights include - Connemara, Pearses Cottage. ( Day 2 )

Enjoy a stroll around before departing Galway for Connemara. Travel along the coast road to Spiddal, visit the craft village before continuing to Pearses Cottage. It was here where Padraig Pearse ( one of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising ) spent time. The Traditional Cottage is now beside a museum. Lunch Locally. Travel over to Roundstone village overlooking the Atlantic Ocean for stroll  & a pint in some of the well known Pubs. Option to Overnight in Roundstone or travel to the slightly larger town of Clifden for Dinner & Overnight.

Highlights include - Kylemore Abbey, Sheep dog demonstration. ( Day 3 )

Today we will depart Roundstone or Clifden & tour to Kylemore Abbey. The Abbey is set overlooking a lake & was once a boarding school. Enjoy the Abbey and victorian gardens before visiting a farm where we can see the sheep dogs at work. Lunch Locally in Leenane village.  Travel through the valleys to Cong. Cong is where the famous film of “ The Quiet Man “ was filmed with John Wayne & Maureen O’Hara. If time allows explore the monastery or walk around Ashford Castle. This is now a world famous 5* Hotel set on the river Corrib. Travel back to Dublin with a stop off at Sean’s Bar in Athlone . It is believed to be one of the Oldest pups in the world..

This tour is based on an 8 hour touring day eg 09.30h to 17.30h following the tour route outlined. Should you require evening transportation from your accommodation to restaurant or for bar music, this can be discussed directly with your driver-guide and you can agree a specific rate or he can help you organise local evening transport as you wish.
